STUDIO is our onestarred Michelin restaurant, beautifully located on the first floor of The Standard. The restaurant is decorated with elegant nordic interior with clean lines, tiles in petrol blue and a breathtaking view of the water and the diverse architecture of the city.

STUDIO is one of the smallest Michelin-restaurants in Denmark which ensures a unique experience with room for presence, where you can follow the evening as it proceeds in the open kitchen as well.

At STUDIO we cook modern scandinavian food seen through an international lense. While we are inspired by the possibilities of the local produce of the season, we also let ourselves enrich by new techniques and inspirations from all sorts of tastes and cuisines.

Our British Head Chef, Alan Bates, is trained in the French cuisine and has previously worked at El Cellar de Can Roca i Girona, Hands & Flowers, The Fat Duck and Henne Kirkeby Kro. However, Alan's personal preferences and curiosity also points towards Asia. Especially the japanese cuisine, where the food is typically lighter but has great intensity in the flavours. “It is not a heavy kitchen, but it really speaks to me. I like it when you’re not uncomfortably full and tired after a meal, but instead leaves the table with a feeling of having a spring in your step", as he says.

STUD!O received its first Michelin star in 2014 just four months after the opening and has defended it ever since. STUD!O also ranked on OAD's top 100 of the best restaurants in Europe in 2018, and also received global recognition in the Danish White Guide 2018.
